Moving forward, giving back. Teddy Gentry may be best known as one of the co-founding members and bass player of the legendary group Alabama. But if you ask those closest to him, both personally and professionally, they will tell you that Teddy is first and foremost a giver. After 30-plus years in the business, 150 industry awards, induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and career sales topping 73 million records, Teddy could justifiably sit back and prop up his feet. But Teddy, fully aware of his blessings, would much rather spend his future giving back.

And who best to be on the receiving end than fresh country music talent? As a writer of hundreds of songs including many of Alabama’s hits, Teddy is always saying, “It’s about the song.” Now Teddy is giving 12 up-and-coming singer/songwriters a shot at their dreams with his brainchild, Best New Nashville.

Teddy and BNN are partnering with Cracker Barrel to exclusively distribute the Best New Nashville CD in 600 locations of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store starting May 16, 2011. Best New Nashville will join Cracker Barrel’s existing all-star line-up of hit albums—including country music heavyweights Alan Jackson, Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan, Dailey & Vincent and others.

Twelve new artists, millions of new fans. Each of the dozen artists hand-selected by Teddy is gifted in his or her own right. They come from around the corner and all the way from Australia. They sing of family, faith and heart-wrenching love. And their music ranges from straight-up country to shades of pop, gospel, bluegrass, soul and rock.
